António Joaquim de Gouveia Pinto (14 June 1777 – 10 October 1833) was a Portuguese jurist and magistrate.

Biography

António Joaquim de Gouvêa Pinto was born at the parish of Anceriz in the municipality of Arganil, on 14 June 1777. He studied law at the University of Coimbra and took part in the Peninsular War. He served successively in various positions in the magistracy, such as Corregedor of the Portalegre District, Judge of the Tombo of the Almoxarifados of Bemposta and Reguengo de Algés etc., and was finally a Desembargador in the Court of Appeal. Gouveia Pinto was admitted to the Order of Christ, in the rank of Knight, on 18 May 1820.

Member of the Lisbon Academy of Sciences, he died in Mealhada, near Loures, on 10th October 1833.
