Ardley United F.C. is a football club based in Ardley, near Bicester in Oxfordshire, England. They are members of the Hellenic Football League Premier Division.

History

Founded in 1945, Ardley spent the majority of their early years in local competitions, primarily the Lord Jersey FA league and cup events. They stepped up in 1988 to the Oxfordshire Senior League and won Division One at the first attempt, gaining promotion to the Premier Division. Within two seasons, they had won that Division as well. The club stayed in the Oxfordshire league for two more seasons, until in 1993 they joined the Hellenic League.

Since joining the Hellenic League, they have won the Division One Championship twice and been runner-up twice more, until finally gaining promotion to the Premier Division in 2003. The previous basic nature of the club's ground had prevented promotion in previous years. After upgrading the facilities enough to be awarded the "Most Improved Ground" award from The Non-League Paper in 2005, the ground was also deemed acceptable for entry to the FA Vase for the first time. In 2008 they appointed the former Banbury United manager Kevin Brock (ex-Oxford United and Newcastle United) as manager. In September 2012, Ollie Stanbridge joined the club, (ex-Bumbury United), bringing with him (as quoted on the club website) "a wicked sense of humour to the dressing room!"
