Arimbra (Malayalam: അരിമ്പ്ര) is a small Village located in the Revenue Village and Gram panchayat of Morayur. Arimbra is combined of both hilly terrain and Paddy fields, it makes the East, West and South boundaries of Morayur Village. It has roads connecting to Morayur, Mongam, Musliyarangadi, Nediyiruppu, Aravangara and Ooragam.[1][2]

History

Actually, Arimbra was a separate Revenue Village called Amsom at the time of British Raj. When the village head (Adhikari)was suspended by British Authorities due to some allegations against him, the Morayur village head (Adhikari) Kodithodika Valiya Ahammed Kutty Haji was given charge then. Later Arimbra merged to Morayur Revenue Village.[3]

Arimbra Hills

Arimbra Hills or Mini Ooty is a tourist destination near Arimbra. A large number of people come here to enjoy the valley views. The hill is popularly called Mini Ooty to compare it to the hill station in Tamil Nadu.

Arimbra School

Government Vocational Higher Secondary School, Arimbra is one of the oldest schools of the area. A UP School and a Sunni Madrassah also exist in the village. The football ground of the Highschool is set in the background of the majestic Arimbra Hills.
