Published by Artlink Australia, based in Adelaide, Artlink receives support from the Australia Council for the Arts and the South Australian Department for the Arts and other state funding bodies.

History

Artlink was established in 1981 as a bi-monthly magazine with the aim of providing a national profile for South Australian art and linking contemporary art organizations in Adelaide. Artlink has evolved since those early days to position Australian art within a national and international context through its themed editions.

Since 1990, Artlink has published regular editions of Artlink Indigenous, commissioned by Australian Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander writers, curators and artists.

In 2014, Stephanie Britton retired from the position of Executive Editor after publishing 145 issues in 33 years. Eve Sullivan was appointed Executive Editor in July 2014.

Distribution

Artlink is distributed by Gordon & Gotch [1] to newsagents in Australia and New Zealand, and by Artlink Australia to independent bookshops, galleries and museums.
