Asadollah Abbasi (born 1961) is an Iranian politician who was minister of labor from 5 May until 15 August 2013.

Early life and education

Abbasi was born in 1961.[1] He holds a degree in education.[1] He received a PhD degree from Islamic Azad University.[1]

Career

Abbasi is a member of the Majlis or Parliament, being a representative of Rudsar.[2] He served as a member of Parliament’s education and research committee.[3] Then he became the deputy head of the committee.[4] Abbasi was named as deputy to then labor minister Reza Sheykholeslam.[5] On 3 February 2013, Sheykholeslam was sacked by the president Mahmoud Ahmedinejad and Abbasi was appointed acting labor minister.[5]

On 24 April, Ahmedinejad proposed him as the minister of labor.[6] Abbasi was approved as minister by the Majlis on 5 May.[7][8] Abbasi's term ended on 15 August 2013 and he was replaced by Ali Rabei in the post.[9]
