Asim Hussain
Dr. Asim Hussain, SI, HI [1] is active in the fields of health, education, and Pakistani politics. He is chairman of Ziauddin Group of Hospitals in Karachi, and former Advisor of Prime Minister for Ministry of Oil and Natural Resources, Pakistan.[2] He serves as the Chairman of Higher Commission of Sindh, Sindh and Chairman of Petroleum Institute of Pakistan.
In recognition of his services to the nation in the fields of education and health care he has been conferred with the Sitara-i-Imtiaz and Hilal-i-Imtiaz.[3] [4]
On the 27th of August 2015 Asim Hussain was detained by the Authorities in an ongoing operation within the city of Karachi launched by the Pakistani Army.[5]

Early life
Hussain was born in Karachi, Pakistan on 28 November 1953.
Hussain was born to Ms. Ejaz Fatima and Mr. Tajammul Hussain, the founding members of the Dr. Ziauddin Group of Hospitals.
Educational Background
Dr. Asim Hussain received his early education from the Karachi Grammar School and later enrolled in the Cadet College, Petaro. After serving a brief period in the Pakistan Army, Dr. Asim Hussain retired as a Lieutenant and chose to pursue the degree of MBBS. He graduated from Dow Medical College (now, Dow University of Health Sciences) Karachi in 1978 and went to Europe for further studies. He is a member of College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPS). in 1981 and continued his studies in Vienna, Austria. After returning to Pakistan, he entered politics.
Early Professional Career
He is the Chairman of the Dr. Ziauddin Group of Hospitals. In 1995, Dr. Asim Hussain established the Ziauddin University, a chartered institution of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh and accredited by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan.

Allegations of Corruption and Jail
Dr.Asim has been alleged into corruption cases Sindh Rangers arrested him and Anti-terrorism court sent him to jail.[8]He has been involved, according to allegations, in corruption amounting to more than four hundred billion rupees. In his statements to Rangers he made confessions of his involvement in multiple high-profile corruption scams and revealed secrets about the murder of Benazir Bhutto and Lyari gang-war in Karachi.
