Associação Desportiva Cabofriense, is a football club from Cabo Frio, a coastal town in the state of Rio de Janeiro c. 100 km east of the capital, founded on January 2, 1997.

History

The club was founded on January 2, 1997 as Associação Atlética Cabofriense, then the team changed its name to Associação Desportiva Cabofriense.[1] Associação Desportiva Cabofriense went bankrupt, and was replaced by Cabo Frio Futebol Clube.[1] In 2001, Cabo Frio changed its name back to Associação Desportiva Cabofriense.[1]

Stadium

The club play its home games at Correão stadium.[2] The stadium has a maximum capacity of 4,200 people.[3]

Mascot

The club's mascot is a marlin fish, named Espada ("Sword" in Portuguese). According to Cabofriense's website, the marlin was chosen as a mascot because it represents strength, vigor, combativeness and technique.
