Astafix is a Brazilian metal band from São Paulo. It was founded in 2007 by Wally, after he left hardcore band CPM22.

Biography

After two years away from the stages, Wally came back with a completely different sound. In 2007, he recorded some demos of what would be later called Astafix, his new band, in which he is roles are guitarist and singer. Shortly thereafter, together with American producer Brendan Duffey and Adriano Daga, he begins recording the first official record "End Ever", which features twelve tracks with styles and influences from bands such as Pantera, Sepultura, Biohazard, Fear Factory, Meshuggah, among other metal and hardcore bands from the 80's and 90's. Adriano Daga, who also produces the album, writes drums lines and is invited to join the band.[1]

With the album in full production, Wally invites musicians and friends to take part in "End Ever", making the album something even more unique. Great names of the Brazilian metal scene such as Andreas Kisser (Sepultura), Paul X (Monster) and Demian Tiguez (Symbols) were invited.

During "End Ever" production, Ayka is chosen as a bass player. To complete the line-up, Paulo Schroeber (then-Almah) joins the band in early 2009.[2]

In May 2009, ten tracks from the future album "End Ever" are available on the official Myspace of the band, and in September Adriano Daga is replaced by Thiago Caurio.[3]

In 2011, the band played their first international concerts in Chile and Argentina and released a live DVD in Sao Paulo.

In 2012 Astafix went on their first European tour passing through Portugal, Spain, Holland, Germany, Belgium, and Russia.

In march 2014 guitarist Paul Schroeber died due to a disease in the lungs.

In 2015 the band released their new album "Internal Saboteur".
