"Bacha Basi" (literally "boy-play") term used in Afghanistan for pederasty. In many Islamic societies, men having homosexual relations with boys is regarded as normal and not in any way immoral. Relations between adult men are not condoned, only those with young boys. American troops in Afghanistan in the war of 2001- were officially instructed not to interfere with this because it was a local custom and to object would be “ethno-centric”. They found the Afghans often indulged in this activity at agreed times, known as “love Thursdays”. One Afghan militia commander who could not wait for Thursday kept a boy chained to his bed as a sex-slave. Dan Quinn, a former US Special Forces captain, was penalized and dismissed for beating the man up when he discovered this. This video shows how the boys are dressed in women’s clothes, made to dance and sing like women, and then prostituted or sold as slaves .
