Bakcell LLC (Bakcell LLC) — was established in March 1994 as a Joint Venture between GTIB and the Ministry of Communication of the Azerbaijan Republic. Bakcell was the first company that began to provide cellular communication services in Azerbaijan.
About Company
Bakcell LLC was established in 1994 and became the first company to provide mobile communications services in the Azerbaijan. The entire network has been upgraded to 3G technology on November 2011 and provides high speed internet under its SUR@ brand. On October 2013 Bakcell signed partnership contract with Manchester United and became Manchester United’s first official telecommunications and broadcast partner for all CIS countries. Bakcell is also the first company in Azerbaijan to start MNP (Mobile Number Portability) process (August 2013).
International Partners
Bakcell customers can use roaming service in Europe, Asia, North and South America, Australia and Africa. Bakcell has Voice and SMS and GPRS roaming agreements with 256 operators in 153 countries globally.
Network & Coverage
Bakcell’s network covers more than 99% of the population and 92% of the land area of the country (excluding occupied territories).[citation needed]
