Notes

  1. Clausel's 1st Division and Saint-Croix's cavalry were maintaining the French lines of communication (Lipscombe, p.207)
  2. Montbrun was in command of all the reserve cavalry, although GB Lepic insisted on referring all Montbrun's orders to Bessières for confirmation (Glover, p.153)
  3. 2nd Foot detached at the blockade of Almeida (Glover, p378)
