Bodmin Town Football Club is an English football club based in Bodmin, Cornwall. They play in the South West Peninsula League Premier Division.
Contents
History
Founded in 1889, the club played at a number of venues before moving to Priory Park in 1948.[1] Having originally played in a white kit, the club adopted its current colours of black and amber in 1925.[2] Bodmin Town joined the South Western League in 1953, finishing as high as fourth in 1958, before resigning in order to join the East Cornwall Premier League.[2][3] The 1954–55 season saw the club make its debut in the FA Cup getting to the first qualifying round.[3] The club returned to the South Western League seven years later and continued to compete in that league until 2007, when they became a founding member of the South West Peninsula League.
Since joining the South West Peninsula League the club has managed to dominate it by winning 4 championships and coming Runner-up twice, The 2012–13 season saw the club win the South West Peninsula League for the fourth time and completed a treble by winning the Throgmorton Cup and Cornwall Senior Cup. The 2013/14 season saw the club reach the 5th round of the FA Vase for the 2nd time in recent years. Bodmin Town eventually finished 7th in the league after a season of rebuilding after a number of players had moved to higher leagues.
At the beginning of the 2015 season, Bodmin Town FC with the help from Bodmin Town Council and the Football stadia improvement fund done a tremendous amount of improvements to the Priory Park ground, New floodlights were erected, the Main stand was fully refurbished and the ground was fully enclosed with a 2.4m anti climb fencing solution. This has safeguarded the future of the club and its youth teams. The club for the 2015-16 season will be again managed by Darren Gilbert and assisted by Lee Hobbs, Ronnie Swiggs and Terry Huddy with the aim to try and recapture the league from a very strong AFC St Austell

Ground
Bodmin Town play their home games at Priory Park, Bodmin, Cornwall, PL31 2AF. The Grounds main stand is the Dennison Memorial Stand, with seating for 400 people was built in 1958. The clubhouse was built 1985 floodlights were added to the ground in 1971.[1]
