Brownsville is a census-designated place in northeastern Bowling Green Township, Licking County, Ohio, United States.[1] Although it is unincorporated, it has a post office, with the ZIP code of 43721.[2] It lies at the intersection of U.S. Route 40 with State Route 668.
History
Brownsville had its start when the National Road was extended to that point.[3] The community was laid out in 1829.[4] Brownsville was named for its founder, Adam Brown.[3] A post office has been in operation since 1830.[5]
Flint Ridge State Memorial is three miles north of Brownsville.
