The 2016 Oregon special gubernatorial election will take place on November 8, 2016, to elect the Governor of Oregon, concurrently with the 2016 U.S. presidential election, as well as elections to the United States Senate and elections to the United States House of Representatives and various state and local elections.

The primaries were held on May 17.

The election will determine who fills the remaining two years of the term of Democratic Governor John Kitzhaber, who was re-elected in 2014 and resigned in February 2015. The incumbent governor is Democrat Kate Brown, who as Oregon Secretary of State succeeded to the governorship. Brown will run against Republican and Portland Oncologist Bud Pierce. If Brown wins, she will be the first bisexual elected to a term as Governor in US history. If Pierce wins, he will be the first Republican governor of Oregon since Victor Atiyeh In 1982.
