Camelia la Texana, is a Spanish-language telenovela produced by Campanario Entertainment and Argos Comunicación and distributed by United States-based television network Telemundo Studios, Miami. The story is based on the song titled "Contrabando y Traición" by Los Tigres del Norte.

As part of the 2014 season, Telemundo aired Camelia, la Texana from February 25, 2014 to May 22, 2014 weeknights at 10pm/9c, replacing Santa Diabla. As with most of its other telenovelas, the network broadcast English subtitles as closed captions on CC3.

Plot

Camelia Pineda is a waitress who suddenly becomes a drug trafficker named "Camelia La Texana" as she did not choose this life but what other choice does she have because of the men who have come to hunt her down thinking she is the girlfriend of Aaron Varela which is true she had a relationship with him. But what happens to Camelia when she meets him again, Camelia finds out that Aaron did not really love but it was Emilio Varela and because of Aaron she is now a drug trafficker and she now wants revenge but she meets Emilio and they fall in love revenge, love and money will tear Camelia's life apart. But will the love she feels for Emilio tear her life apart?

Production

The telenovela was shot in Mexico city and filming began on June 2013 and ended on August 2014.
