The Canada 150 tulip, also known as the, Maple Leaf tulip, is the official tulip of Canada’s 150th anniversary and was unveiled May 9, 2016 in Commissioners Park.[1] The tulip was selectively bred with an elegant white bloom and red flames, which resembles the flag of Canada.[2] In September 2016, tulip bulbs are going to be available for sale at Home Hardware.[3] For 2017, during the tulip festivals sesquicentennial celebration, Ottawa will have planted 30,000 Maple Leaf tulip bulbs.[3]
