Canadian Western Agribition

Canadian Western Agribition is the largest agricultural and livestock show in Canada. The show is a large agricultural marketplace, trade show and rodeo held annually in Regina, Saskatchewan. Agribition usually takes place in late November at Evraz Place (formerly known as Regina Exhibition Park), but the 2013 show was held in early November. The show won the 2013 Saskatchewan Tourism Award of Excellence for Event of the Year.

There are diverse breeds of cattle, sheep, bison and horses on exhibit at the show, followed by sales of animals to both Canadian and international customers. A yearly grain exposition highlights the latest in Canadian and global crop technologies.

127,000 visitors attended the 2013 Canadian Western Agribition, making this the most highly attended event in the city of Regina. The show is truly an international event with "over 800 international guests from more than 65 countries"(Agribition attendance up 3% in 2013 http://www.leaderpost.com/sports/Agribition+attendance+2013/9224553/story.html) attending the show in 2013. The show provides an opportunity to link Canadian producers with both Canadian and international customers.

History of the Canadian Western Agribition

The first Agribition show was held in Regina from November 30 to December 3, 1971 and has taken place every year since. Chris Sutter of Redvers, Saskatchewan was the first president of Canadian Western Agribition. Bill Small of Craven, Saskatchewan was the show's first vice-president. A book which chronicled the first 29 years of the show, titled Agribition, was published in 1990.
