He was a member of Videnskapsselskapet i Kristiania (now Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters) and was a knight, first class of the Order of St. Olav.[1] Bock travelled extensively in South East Asia and his large collection of artefacts from Thailand and Indonesia is now kept at the British Museum in London.[2][3]
