Carlton Town F.C. are a football club based in Carlton near Nottingham, England. The club plays in the Northern Premier League Division One South.
History
They were established in 1904 as Sneinton F.C. after the district of Sneinton in which they were based.[1] The club played in local leagues throughout most of the 20th century. Sneinton won the Notts Alliance Division Two championship in 1984–85, and the Division One championship in 1992–93, gaining promotion to the Senior Division.[2][3] After finishing third in the Senior Division in 1994–95 the club were accepted into the Central Midlands League Premier Division.[1][2] The club was promoted to the Supreme Division in 1997–98 after finishing third.[1][2] In 2002 they changed their name to Carlton Town, winning the Supreme Division the following summer, achieving promotion to the Northern Counties East Football League Division One.[4] They were champions of Division One in the 2005–06 season and were promoted to the Premier Division.[1] After finishing third, they were promoted to the Northern Premier League Division One.[1][5] For the 2011–12 season Carlton finished ten points behind league champions Grantham Town in the Northern Premier League Division One South. The following season would see them finish twelfth.
Colours
Carlton Town's colours are yellow and blue shirts, with blue shorts, and yellow socks.[6] Their away kit is sky blue shirts, shorts and socks.[6]
