Usually One Day Internationals must be played by the top team representing one cricketing nation, and until recently the International Cricket Council has enforced this rigorously. However, the ICC made an exception for the game played by an ICC World XI against an ACC Asian XI, which was the centrepiece of the World Cricket Tsunami Appeal to raise funds for World Vision following the Indian Ocean tsunami of 26 December 2004. Subsequently, the ICC decided to award ODI status to the three Super Series matches played between Australia and a World XI in October 2005. The players in these four matches are listed below.
