The Russian Academy, or the Imperial Russian Academy, was created in 1783. The Academy had been existing till 1841 and then it was transformed into the Russian Language Department of the Imperial Saint Petersburg Academy of Sciences (1724 — 1917). Unlike members of other Academies in Russia, any Member of the Academy appears to be an Academician.
