Treaties extended by the United Kingdom to New Zealand New Zealand (1840–1947). The United Kingdom formally lost the power to extend treaties to New Zealand in 1947 when New Zealand enacted the Statute of Westminster Adoption Act. In practice, the UK stopped extending treaties to New Zealand in the early 1930s. Unless denounced, treaties extended to New Zealand remain in force for New Zealand.
