Born to Late Rao Bhadur Thakur Kartar Singh, son of the Late General Punjab Singh Jamwal of Kot Garhi of Akhnoor In Jammu was married to Late Tikka Sahib Gulab Singh ji of Chamba State son of HH Kesri SinghJi who was the son of HH.Bhuri Singhji. She became the first elected women legislator of Chamba District in 1972. at 93 she is oldest living women legislator of Himachal Pradesh.
A graduate of her time she developed Bhattiyat which was a tough constituency with roads bridges and water systems for which even today she is revered for.She created a network of schools and primary health centers for the development of young minds.
