Central Virginia Community College, CVCC, is a two-year college located in Lynchburg, Virginia and is part of the Virginia Community College System. Established in 1966, CVCC serves students at the main campus in Lynchburg or at one of the off-site centers in Amherst, Appomattox, Altavista, and Bedford.

Students

In the fall 2004 semester, CVCC's total headcount was 4,480 students, 57% female, 43% male. The racial makeup of the student body was 79.8% White, 16.5% Black or African American, 0.6% Native American, 1.2% Asian and 2.0% from other races. Fewer than 1 percent (0.8%) of the students were Hispanic or Latino of any race.[1]

Central Virginia Community College offers 80 associate degree and career certificate programs. [2]

As of Spring 2012 semester, Virginia resident tuition is $123.50 per credit hour including fees. Tuition for out-of-state students is $315.10 including fees. The College charges all students $7.50 per credit as a technology fee. On-campus and off-campus students pay an additional Activity Fee of $4.50 per credit. Out-of-state students pay an additional capital fee of $15.00 in addition to the above fees. [3]
