The football club was initially created as a youth team in 1971 when two parents found no football clubs in the local area.[1]

The team was a founding member of the Chiltonian League Division Two in 1985–86 from which it was promoted to Division One in its first season after finishing third.[2] The team was relegated back in 1990–91 to Division Two, which was now renamed Division One. In 2003–04 the team joined the Hellenic Football League.[2]

In 2010 the club was made a FA Charter standard club and achieved its Community badge in 2010, shortly followed in 2011 with being recognised as The Community Club of the Year by the Oxfordshire FA.[3]

Chinnor appointed new first team manager David Ridgley for the 2011–12 season. Ridgley continues at the helm with Lewis Craker & Craig Williams his assistants. Chinnor also field a 'A' and 'B' teams in lower leagues.
