Chris Devaney is the Chairman of the Tennessee Republican Party.[1][2][3][4]

Early life

Chris Devaney was born in Texas.[1] He graduated from the University of Oklahoma, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.[1]

Career

He started his career as a journalist for NBC Radio News in Washington, D.C. and later worked in media relations for the Republican Conference of the United States Senate.[1][2] He then worked as a senior staff member for Phil Gramm, Senator from Texas from 1985 to 2002.[2][4] In 1994, he moved to Tennessee to work on Fred Thompson's campaign for the United States Senate.[1][4] He later became Executive Director of the Tennessee Republican Party.[1][2][4] He worked on Bob Corker's 2006 senatorial campaign, and became his State Director shortly after his election.[1][2][4] He has served as Chairman of the Tennessee Republican Party since 2009, and was re-elected in 2010 and in 2012.[1][2][3][4]

Personal life

He is married to Heather Devaney, and they live in Lookout Mountain, a suburb of Chattanooga, Tennessee.[1][3][4] They have four children, and attend Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church.[1][4]
