Chris Tarbell
Christopher "Chris" Tarbell[1] is a former FBI special agent who infiltrated both Anonymous and the Silk Road. He was involved in the tracking and arrest of both Sabu (of Anonymous) and Dread Pirate Roberts of Silk Road (Ross Ulbricht). He turned Sabu into an informant against the hacker group Lulzsec.[2] He later led the team that led to the arrest of Ross Ulbricht in the Glen Park Public Library.[1]
Tarbell attended James Madison University. He received a master's degree in computer science, began working as a computer forensics civilian employee for the FBI, and later became an FBI agent. He became a part of the FBI cybercrime division at age 31, after the completion of his agent training. Tarbell married his wife, Sabrina, before becoming an FBI agent.[3] The couple have children.[4]
