The Continental Bank of Canada was a chartered bank formed in Canada when IAC, a financing company, decided to expand the scope of operations in the 1980s.[1][2] The Continental Bank of Canada had head offices in Toronto. The bank was acquired by Lloyds Bank of the United Kingdom and became "Lloyds Bank of Canada" in 1986. Lloyds Bank sold its Canadian operations to Hong Kong Bank of Canada in 1990 forming HSBC Bank Canada.
In 2013 a new bank named "Continental Bank of Canada" was chartered.[3]
