Conus messiasi is a species of sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusk in the family Conidae, the cone snails and their allies.[1]
Like all species within the genus Conus, these snails are predatory and venomous. They are capable of "stinging" humans, therefore live ones should be handled carefully or not at all.
Description
The size of the shell varies between 17 mm and 34 mm. Lua error in package.lua at line 80: module 'strict' not found.
Distribution
This species occurs in the Atlantic Ocean in shallow water off the Cape Verdes. This species is known only from the Derrubado area, on Boavista Island, Cape Verde. Being an insular endemic, it is at high risk of extinction
