Corpus Christi Independent School District is a school district based in Corpus Christi, Texas, United States.Corpus Christi ISD will serve 40,000+ students for the 2012-2013 school year. There are 5 other school districts that also serve the city of Corpus Christi.

CCISD serves most of the city of Corpus Christi.

In 2009, the school district was rated "academically acceptable" by the Texas Education Agency.[1]

The Superintendent of Schools is Dr. Roland Hernandez.

History

In 1970, the United States Supreme Court rules that Brown v. Board of Education protected Hispanics in the decision Cisneros v. Corpus Christi Independent School District.[2]
