The Cyprus Investment Promotion Agency (CIPA) is the national investment promotion agency of Cyprus.

It is responsible for the promotion of the country as an attractive investment destination, in alliance with Cyprus's economic strategies and in cooperation with international economic organisations, foreign investment promotion agencies, chambers of commerce and business associations. The agency is a member of the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies and has been ranked 5th out of 189 countries in the 2012 World Bank Report.[1][2][3][4]

Functions

  • Offering relevant investment information for domestic and international enterprises;
  • Carrying out topic research related to investment while organizing and implementing the foreign investment promotion strategies;
  • Engaging in cooperation and communications with the relevant international economic organizations, foreign investment promotion agencies, chambers of commerce and business associations;[5]
  • Planning and organizing large investment promotion activities at home and abroad, organizing relevant investment activities such as training, forum, conference and exhibition;[6][7][8]
  • Assisting foreign investment enterprises for relevant legal procedures; involving in the process all relevant Government Services.
  • Attending International conferences like the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA) as well as other international industry events.
  • Accepting and handling complaints from foreign investment enterprises.
  • Dealing with consultation, information service, market investigation, credit investigation related to investment activities and planning services on investment promotion;

CIPA Awards

The CIPA International Investment Awards is an annual ceremony that is designed to distinguish the international companies that have invested in the state and contributed to the economy. This both political and economic event is part of Cyprus efforts to institute itself as an International Business Center for the Eastern Mediterranean region. The ceremony customarily takes place on the Presidential Palace, Nicosia and is attended by prominent personalities from the world of politics, business and investment.[9][10][11][12][13]
