DWWW (774 AM) is a C-QUAM AM stereo station owned and operated by Interactive Broadcast Media and affiliated by Radio Mindanao Network in the Philippines. The studio is in Unit 808, Atlanta Centre, Annapolis St., Greenhills, San Juan City, while the transmitter is at Brgy. Tagalag, Valenzuela City, Philippines.

DWWW has news, public affairs, health & wellness programs ; oldies music and religious programs.

History

DWWW 620/630 kHz

DWWW began in 1974 under 620 kHz (later moved at 630 kHz in 1979). At that time, it was owned by Kanlaon Broadcasting System (now Radio Philippines Network/CNN Philippines). The studios of the station was located then at the Chronicle Building in Pasig. Veteran anchors and new recruits like Johnny de Leon, Rod Navarro, Noli de Castro and Vic Morales were some the announcers of the station. Pinakamatatag sa Buong Pilipinas (The strongest in the Philippines) was the station's slogan.

In July 1986, the Presidential Commission on Good Government turned DWWW (RPN) and DWOK (BBC) back to ABS-CBN. DWWW was renamed DZMM and resumes broadcasting.

DZBM/DWOO/DWAT 740/774kHz

The modern DWWW started as DZBM 1040 kHz in 1963 under the Mareco Broadcasting Network, Inc. This served as the promotional radio station for Villar Records and Mabuhay Records. In 1973, DZBM changed its callsign to DWOO, changing its frequency to 774 kHz and its format to news & talk. In 1987, DWOO changed again as DWAT and served as the first station of veteran broadcasters, Fernan Gulapa, Willie Delgado, and the son of the late Louie Beltran, Cito Beltran. It is the home of CNN on AM radio in the Philippines, aside from Citylite 88.3 (now Jam 88.3) and 105.1 Crossover.

DWWW 774kHz

In 1996, Roberto Bacsal and Rene Palma under Interactive Broadcast Media, Inc. bought the MBNI's flagship AM station and revived it as DWWW under 774 kHz. Its studios were moved to #23 E. Rodriguez Sr. Ave, Quezon City. The station plays a variety of music from the 50s to 80s, taking it to the #4 spot in the Mega Manila AM ratings and carved a strong niche against rival stations.

Expansion

Under the new management, DWWW was relaunched on November 2, 2011 in its new home in Atlanta Center, Greenhills, San Juan and expanded its broadcast hours to 24/7 on-air broadcast. The nomenclature of the station's identification has also changed from "Siete siete cuatro/siyete siyete kwatro" to "Seven seven four."
