Dan Gîrleanu (born June 2, 1954) was a member of the Romanian volleyball team that won the bronze medal at the 1980 Summer Olympics. He played all six matches.
He was born in Transylvania, Romania and is married with one child, and attended Saint Leo University for his college education. He now teaches U.S. history in Houston, Texas at the Northland Christian School. Aside from teaching, he coaches high school volleyball, and gives private Volleyball lessons at the Willowbrook Sports Complex. Another honor he retains is the status of being National Referee. Gîrleanu has previously coached the Texas Tornados. He's also coached the Saint Leo University team, and is a member of The North Bay Juniors Volleyball Club[citation needed]
