David Ryu (b. 1975) is a Los Angeles City Councilman for Los Angeles City Council District 4. [1] He is the first Korean-American to hold a council seat in Los Angeles, California. [1]
Ryu defeated Carolyn Ramsay, a former Councilman Tom LaBonge aide, on May 19, 2015.[2] He was ceremonially sworn in June 29, 2015, his official start date was July 1.[1]
