Egil Søby (born 25 November 1945) is a Norwegian sprint canoeist who competed from the late 1960s to the early 1970s. He won gold medal on K4 1000 metres at the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City (with Steinar Amundsen, Tore Berger and Jan Johansen),[1] and earned a bronze medal at the 1972 Olympics in Munich on the same distance.[2]

Søby also won three medals at the ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships with a gold (K-4 10000 m: 1970) and two silvers (K-2 10000 m: 1966, 1971).
