Elanthoor (Ellangalude Oor) (in Malayalam : ഇലന്തൂർ) is a village in Pathanamthitta district in the state of Kerala, India.[1] The village owns a significant position in ecumenism,with temples and churches ata hand's distance,but not much noticed by others. Elanthoor is the birthplace of the famous actor Mohanlal.[2] Also it is the native place of the famous South Indian actress Meera Jasmine's family)
Demographics
As of the 2001 India census, Elanhoor had a population of 15,425, with 7202 males and 8223 females.[1]
Location
The village is located between Pathanamthitta and Kozhencherry. The T. K. Road (Thiruvalla-Pathanamthitta-Kumbazha Road / SH - 07) connects the town to other major towns. Elanthoor is easily accessible to the Main Eastern Highway through Pathanamthitta. Elanthoor Gandhi is a very famous personality.
