Emmanuel Domingo y Sol

Emmanuel Domingo y Sol (born April 1, 1836 in Tortosa, Tarragona, Spain, died January 25, 1909) was the founder of the Pontifical Spanish College in Rome. As a young priest he built a sports arena and a theater to provide a Christian place for youth to play sports and to act. Pope John Paul II beatified Emmanuel Domingo y Sol on March 29, 1987.

In 1883 he founded the Diocesan Labour Priests Brotherhood to support the sacerdotal vocations and Christian education of youth. They have houses in Washington, DC and other US locations.
