Lua error in package.lua at line 80: module 'strict' not found. Esporte Clube Sírio, or E.C. Sírio, is a Brazilian men's professional basketball club that is based in São Paulo, Brazil. The famous Brazilian player Oscar Schmidt played for the club, as did also Julinho (Julio Garavello), Marcos Leite and Marcel de Souza.

History

Sírio won the Brazilian League championship 7 times, in the years 1968, 1970, 1972, 1978, 1979, 1983, and 1989. They also won the South American Club Championship 8 times, in the years 1961, 1968, 1970, 1971, 1972, 1978, 1979, and 1984. In addition to that, the club won the FIBA Intercontinental Cup in 1979.
