The Eternal Light Flagstaff is a monumental flagstaff and sculpture designed by Paul Wayland Bartlett, located in Madison Square in Manhattan, New York. Commissioned by Rodman Wanamaker for $25,000 and dedicated on November 11 (Armistice Day), 1923, it commemorates members of the United States Army and Navy who were received at the site following the conclusion of World War I. The bronze flagstaff is set on an ornamental pedestal made of Milford pink granite.[1] The work is part of the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation's Art in the Parks collection.[2]
