The Faculty of Medical and Human Sciences is one of the four faculties that comprise the University of Manchester. The faculty spans a range of discipline areas including School of Medicine; School of Dentistry; School of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Work; School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences; and School of Psychological Sciences.
The Faculty has a distinguished history. Its School of Medicine was the first medical school established in England outside London, the School of Nursing was the first British school to offer a degree in the subject, and similarly Manchester was the first university to award degrees in Pharmacy.[1]
