Felix Angel Solis (born September 17, 1971) is an American actor, film director and film producer.[1]

Career

Solis has appeared in over 18 films including The Forgotten (2004 film), Taking Chance, The International, My Soul to Take,[2] and Gun Hill Road (film) (winner of the 2011 Grand Jury Nominee at the Sundance Film Festival).[3] His recent film performances include Man on a Ledge,[4] and Arbitrage (film), the latter of which was released in September, 2012.[5]

Solis' television episodics include, The Following, The Good Wife, Made in Jersey, NYC 22, Weekends at Bellevue, Criminal Minds, Army Wives, ATF-The Line, Damages (TV series), Fringe, The Sopranos, Oz, The West Wing, Third Watch, NYPD Blue and New York Undercover.[6]

Solis has been a member of LAByrinth Theatre Company since 1999.[7] He has originated parts in "In Arabia We'd All Be Kings" and "Our Lady of 121st Street", both written by Stephen Adly Guirgis with direction by Philip Seymour Hoffman.[8] Felix performed at the Cherry Lane Theater's stage in "Havana is Waiting" by Eduardo Machado.[9] Solis has also been a member of The Actors Studio since 2001, where he has appeared in plays including Salome starring Dianne Wiest and Al Pacino.[10]

As a stage director, Solis helmed Raul Castillo's "Knives and Other Sharp Objects" at the Joseph Papp Public Theater in 2009.[11]

Solis co-wrote, acted and directed in a short film, Tinto, shot on location in the Maipo Valley wine region of Chile, South America. Tinto was an official selection of the 2014 Tribeca Film Festival. The film was co-produced by Solis' entertainment production company Sonia Inc, and Subway Token Films of which he is a co-creator alongside his partner, Liza Fernandez.

Recent projects

Solis had a recurring role on The Following. He shot a new CBS episodic called Made in Jersey starring Kyle MacLachlan, and Janet Montgomery.[12] On the same network he played Sgt. Terry Howard on NYC 22, produced by Jane Rosenthal and Robert De Niro, as well as a recurring role on The Good Wife as the "No-Nonsense" Det. Rodriguez.[13]

Personal life

Solis was born in New York City and raised by Puerto Rican parents in the Chelsea and Greenwich Village areas of Manhattan.
