Summary

The Suzhou numerals for five and nine are their horizontal forms of the rod numerals in cursive. (cf. Qian, Baozong (1932). Zhongguo Suanxueshi, Shang Juan (A History of Chinese Mathematics, Volume 1). Peiping: Academia Sinica. p. 113.) The Suzhou numerals in the image are traced from selected ones on old documents, not taken from any computer fonts, since the Suzhou numerals in these fonts are far from satisfactory, and some even have errors owing to ignorance of designers.
