At the four corners of the postcard are what were then the current coats of arms for <a href="//commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Ontario" title="Ontario">Ontario</a> (top left), <a href="//commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Qu%C3%A9bec" class="mw-redirect" title="Québec">Québec</a> (top right), <a href="//commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/New_Brunswick" class="mw-redirect" title="New Brunswick">New Brunswick</a> (bottom right) and <a href="//commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Nova_Scotia" class="mw-redirect" title="Nova Scotia">Nova Scotia</a> (bottom left). In the centre shield, these four arms are repeated, and then followed by a modified device for <a href="//commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Manitoba" title="Manitoba">Manitoba</a> (the current Manitoba device had a standing bison, the artist has shown a running one), an anachronistic device for <a href="//commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/British_Columbia" title="British Columbia">British Columbia</a> (this device had not been used since 1896), and a modified device for <a href="//commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Prince_Edward_Island&action=edit&redlink=1" class="new" title="Prince Edward Island (page does not exist)">Prince Edward Island</a> (the official one also depicts a chief).
