Summary

1979 Jeep CJ Silver Anniversary edition. This is a limited edition version of the Renegade model to celebrate 25 years of the CJ-5. Features include Quick Silver metallic paint, black to silver accent striping and Renegade decals, black soft top, black vinyl bucket seats, silver accents, as well as a dashboard plaque commemorating the 1954-1979 occasion. The spare tire cover was also special to the anniversary edition. Note that the paint was a special shade exclusive to this model, as was the striping. This original, unmodified Jeep has AMC's 304 cubic inch (5 L) V8 engine with manual transmission, as well as the standard chrome wheels that came with the Anniversary package. This Jeep also has power steering and power disk brakes. The book "Jeep Collector's Library" by Jim Allen on page 97 describes this model as "very low production". Picture taken on the show field of the Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA) 2015 Hershey meet that is held every October in Pennsylvania.
