The barge blocks at <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cooks_yard" class="extiw" title="en:Cooks yard">Cooks yard</a> on the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/River_Blackwater,_Essex" class="extiw" title="en:River Blackwater, Essex">River Blackwater</a> in <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maldon,_Essex" class="extiw" title="en:Maldon, Essex">Maldon</a>, <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/England" class="extiw" title="en:England">England</a>.
These blocks are under water at high <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/tide" class="extiw" title="en:tide">tide</a>, allowing a barge to be floated onto them. They dry out at low tide to allow access to the flat bottoms of <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thames_sailing_barge" class="extiw" title="en:Thames sailing barge">Thames sailing barges</a> for scraping off <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/barnacles" class="extiw" title="en:barnacles">barnacles</a> and <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/seaweed" class="extiw" title="en:seaweed">weed</a> and applying <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/antifouling" class="extiw" title="en:antifouling">antifouling</a>. They also allow limited repair work to be done between tides.
They are the last original barge blocks left on the east coast of England <a rel="nofollow" class="external autonumber" href="http://www.top-sail.co.uk/about_us.htm">[1]</a>.
