Summary

Building of the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Library_of_Spain" class="extiw" title="w:National Library of Spain">National Library of Spain</a> (BNE) in <a href="//commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Alcal%C3%A1_de_Henares" title="Alcalá de Henares">Alcalá de Henares</a>. Designed by architect Francisco Fernández Longoria, consists of six towers, to deposit books in more than 250 kilometers of shelving. Begun in 1988 on land donated by the <a href="//commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/University_of_Alcal%C3%A1" class="mw-redirect" title="University of Alcalá">University of Alcalá</a>, and has had several extensions. It now houses much of the collection of the BNE, and has a reading room with 40 seats.
