Summary
Castle Hedingham, Essex Castle Hedingham's very well preserved keep. Built in 1140 by Aubrey de Vere, on a flat, raised platform that was the site of an earlier timber fortress. William de Corbeuil, Archbishop of Canterbury and architect of Rochester Castle & Cathedral, is believed to have been its designer. The Tower stands to 110ft (33m).
