Summary
This is a lift-bridge carrying the mainline of CSX railroad over Wallace Creek, a tidal creek the joins the Stono Rover about 20 miles from the Atlantic Ocean. The bridge was originally constructed to carry two tracks, but the eastern track (the farther track from this vantage) has been removed. The line is very active with a dozen or more freight and passenger trains per day.
