Mast House and Mould Loft. On the ground floor masts were made and stored. In the mould loft, the lines of the ship were drawn on the floor- and patterns (templates) made. It was here that the lines for HMS Victory were laid down. Built between 1753-8. This is a timber building with ship lap cladding. </p> <table lang="left" class="toccolours mw-content-en layouttemplate commons-file-information-table" cellpadding="2" style="width: 100%; direction:ltr;"><tr> <th class="type fileinfo-paramfield">Camera location</th> <td style="border:none;"> <span class="plainlinksneverexpand"><a class="external text" href="//tools.wmflabs.org/geohack/geohack.php?pagename=File%3AChathamHDYM%26MLoft0004.JPG¶ms=051.397100_N_0000.529500_E_globe:Earth_type:camera_&language=en">51° 23′ 49.56″ N, 0° 31′ 46.2″ E</a></span> <a class="mw-kartographer-maplink no-icon" mw-data="interface" data-style="osm-intl" href="//commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:Map/13/51.3971/0.5295" data-zoom="13" data-lat="51.3971" data-lon="0.5295" data-overlays='["_a26292b9c33371092784516fa0f8040bf4a20b53"]'><img alt="Kartographer map based on OpenStreetMap." src="https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/b/b0/Openstreetmap_logo.svg/20px-Openstreetmap_logo.svg.png" title="Kartographer map based on OpenStreetMap." width="20" height="20" srcset="https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/b/b0/Openstreetmap_logo.svg/30px-Openstreetmap_logo.svg.png 1.5x, https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/b/b0/Openstreetmap_logo.svg/40px-Openstreetmap_logo.svg.png 2x" data-file-width="256" data-file-height="256"></a> </td> <td style="border:none;">View this and other nearby images on: <a class="external text" href="//tools.wmflabs.org/wiwosm/osm-on-ol/commons-on-osm.php?zoom=16&lat=051.397100&lon=0000.529500">OpenStreetMap</a> - <a class="external text" href="//tools.wmflabs.org/geocommons/earth.kml?latdegdec=051.397100&londegdec=0000.529500&scale=10000&commons=1">Google Earth</a> </td> <td style="border:none;"> <a href="//commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Geocoding" title="Commons:Geocoding"><img alt="info" src="https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/1/18/Circle-information.svg/18px-Circle-information.svg.png" width="18" height="18" srcset="https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/1/18/Circle-information.svg/27px-Circle-information.svg.png 1.5x, https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/1/18/Circle-information.svg/36px-Circle-information.svg.png 2x" data-file-width="225" data-file-height="225"></a><span class="geo" style="display:none"> 51.397100; 0.529500</span> </td> </tr></table> |
