According to a copy of their menu found online at Urban Spoon as viewed on 2009-08-26, their California Burgers start with a ⅓ or ½ pound patty of ground beef or a chicken breast fillet, avocado, pepper jack cheese, Sylvester's sauce, and topped with lettuce, onions, and pickles on a toasted sesame seed bun. Photographer's comments: "Avocado atop anything = 'california version'. Proof: witness the California Burger from Sylvester's in Los Osos (arguably the best burger in the county). You gotcher slice of Pepper Jack and you gotcher half of avo. Hence you gotcher proverbial California Burger. Me, I'm on the other side of the table having a Babywood Burger. Babywood (named after Baywood) cuz it's less than 1/3 pound." |
